Alright, I finally crawled out of my loot goblin cave to break down the latest PUBG patch, and honestly, this one is a fever dream. PC players got the short straw on June 12 from 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM UTC. Console players, congratulations, you get an extra week of denial until June 20 from 1:00 AM to 9:00 AM UTC. PC rotations hit every Wednesday at 2:00 AM UTC, and console players can expect their own chaos every Thursday at 7:00 AM UTC.
Map Rotation Shenanigans
For NA, EU, RU, OC, SA, and Console, Erangel and Miramar flex at 25% each. Taego and Vikendi sit at 20%, and Rondo sneaks in at 10%. If Deston crashes the rotation, every map gets a 20% slice, except during weeks two and four where fixed and favored maps have 22% each and etc. maps drop to 11%. Ranked map service changes each season, so do not get too attached.
| Map | Normal Rotation |
|---|---|
| Erangel | 25% |
| Miramar | 25% |
| Taego | 20% |
| Vikendi | 20% |
| Rondo | 10% |
The NewJeans Invasion
Taego has become a full-on pop wonderland. The school playground is now a performing stage, and scattered buildings are music stores. A PUBG x NewJeans truck stage appears on some starting islands of every 8x8 map, including Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi, Taego, Deston, and Rondo. If you perform a collaboration emote on the stage, the corresponding music video triggers. On console, album images appear instead. You can join the emote or cheer from below with the Interaction key. Only PUBG x NewJeans emotes work up there, and the video stops once the emote ends. The truck stages exist only until you board the plane, then they vanish like my courage in a hot drop. Available in Normal Match, Ranked, and Casual Mode.
Ranked Rewards Are Getting Serious
Say hello to the Season 30 Ranked changes. The new Ranked Point trial from Season 29 is being reverted for now, with the improved version coming back in August. Two reward tracks now exist: Tier Rewards and Ranked Play Point Rewards.
-
Gold Tier and above earn exclusive weapon skins only available that season.
-
Ranked Play Points are earned from Ranked matches, including placement matches.
-
Kill Points: 1 point per kill, up to 10 points total.
-
Survival Points: 1 point for every minute survived after the first 5 minutes.
-
Dying within the first 5 minutes gives you nothing, assists do not count, and spectating does not extend your survival time.
-
10 distinct rewards are distributed based on accumulated points, with extra rewards every 200 points after the 10th.
-
Top 500 Emblem and Nameplate now require Master Tier or higher.
-
The Ranked Parachute skin moved from Tier Rewards to Ranked Play Point Rewards.
Tier Protection is here to save your ego. If your RP drops below the minimum for your current Tier, it locks you at the floor and prevents demotion. You get 3 Tier Protections every time you promote to Silver or higher, including after a demotion and re-promotion. The max you can hold is 3. It also activates on crashes, intentional leaves, or abnormal terminations. If you still get demoted after burning all protections, 50% of the RP previously protected is deducted on top of the regular loss. Rank decay and placement matches are not included.

Gunplay: SMGs Got the Good Stuff
The AUG received a slight comfort buff: horizontal recoil down about 2.3%, vertical recoil down about 4.5%, crouch recoil reduction improved from 13% to 14%, and damage over distance was slightly reduced. The Dragunov kept its personality but had the maximum one-shot headshot range trimmed a bit, while non-head shots to kill stay the same.
SMGs are basically learning to fly. Basic movement speed increased about 2.6% and sprint speed increased about 2.4%, aligning them with unarmed movement. Medium and long-range damage was reduced for all SMGs except the P90.
| Weapon | Change |
|---|---|
| MP5K | Added to all maps; damage 33 to 34; horizontal recoil -7%; vertical recoil -5%; empty reload 15% faster |
| Tommy Gun | Ammo .45 ACP to 9mm; horizontal recoil -5%; vertical recoil -7% |
| UMP | Ammo .45 ACP to 9mm; damage 41 to 42; horizontal recoil -5% |
| Micro UZI | Horizontal recoil -10%; vertical recoil -15% |
| PP-19 Bizon | Damage 36 to 38; horizontal and vertical recoil -5% |

Grenades, Co-op Climb, and Modes
The grenade damage radius was fixed for those absurd low-profile Special Vehicle skins. If you hid behind a McLaren GT or Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster and thought you were invincible, those days are over. Future Special Vehicle skins will follow the same rule.
Co-op Climb got a massive glow-up. The max height increased, animation speed is up 50%, interaction range grew, and you can now do it while sprinting or jumping. This also applies to Custom Match.
Bluebomb Rush has been temporarily removed. War Mode, War Mode: Conquest, and Zombie Mode were removed from Normal Mode. On PC Sandbox, Tactical Gear vanished from the Spawn Tool, and an LMG category now holds the DP-28, M249, and MG3.
Survivor Pass and Bugs
A brand new Survivor Pass is ready for Update 30.1, and the PUBG x NewJeans collaboration skins are craftable only through Special Crafting at the Workshop. Use your Tokens before the closing date, or do not blame the loot gods.

Bug fixes include the zipline gun crossbow skin identity crisis, motorbike tire impacts, wrist yoga with the M24, the P90 scope shade, revive timers looping, and the Vikendi bear being blocked by terrain like a confused bouncer. Plus a truly unhinged list of clothing clipping fixes. If your character's ankles turned transparent with Edge Runner Shoes and Toon Raider Denim Pants, you are now seen again.
Data referenced from GamesIndustry.biz helps frame how PUBG’s Update 30.1 blends live-service spectacle with retention mechanics: branded NewJeans stages and limited-time crafting push short-window engagement, while the Season 30 Ranked overhaul (dual reward tracks, point accumulation, and Tier Protection) is the kind of progression tuning often used to stabilize competitive participation and smooth churn during seasonal resets.
