PUBG Update 28.1: Map Shakeup, Weapon Nerfs, and Electric Buses

Map Service Gets a Regional Makeover

Regenerative braking charges the battery slightly when you release the forward/reverse keys. However, it won't work if the vehicle is off or the battery is completely discharged. You can only charge it at a Charging Station, which has been added to the NEOX Factory and Test Track. The Pico Bus only world-spawns in Rondo.

Vaulting Just Got More Cooperative

Update 28.1 introduces new vaulting features to add more action and teamwork. You can now vault vehicles (with a few exceptions). But the real highlight is the 2-player co-op climb. Here's how it works:

Lifting a Teammate:

• The lifter crouches near the desired location and holds the Limited Interact key.

• The climber presses the Interact key to step onto their teammate's hands and vault up.

• This isn't possible if you're prone, and there's a maximum height limit.

Pulling Up a Teammate:

• The puller crouches and holds the Limited Interact key to extend a hand.

• The climber presses the Interact key to grab the hand and climb up.

Any significant impact, being knocked out, or killed will cancel the co-op climb. According to the devs, this paves the way for stronger teamwork and new strategies.

Gas Can Upgrade and Utility Belt Removal

The Gas Can has been upgraded to be more useful. You can now refuel vehicles from outside using the Gas Can. The automatic transfer to inventory when entering a vehicle has been removed. On PC, if you have the Gas Can equipped and enter a vehicle, you can use it with the 4th inventory slot key.

In other news, the Utility Belt is being removed in the March update. The devs found that newcomers often overlooked its benefits, and many players felt it clashed with their costume skins. A survey showed that the majority didn't strongly object to its removal. Its capacity feature will be integrated into the character's basic stats. Utility Belt skins will no longer be obtainable from the Store, Workshop, or Random Crates, and will no longer be tradeable on the Steam Community Market. Ranked Season 28 Rewards

The leaderboard has reset, and Season 28 rewards are now available. Based on your final Tier from the previous season, you'll receive:

• Other rewards (usable for one season)

Rewards can be found in your Inventory/Edit Profile page. Once Season 28 ends and the server undergoes maintenance, all rewards except the Parachute and Medal will be withdrawn.

• Three-wheeled motorbikes have been removed from all maps due to low usage. Spawn rates of more popular vehicles have been adjusted.

• The Airboat has been removed. The Food Truck, Blanc, and Pico Bus will be available.

• AI Training mode has been removed, and tutorial missions updated.

• Sunset weather brightness and shadows have been adjusted for better visibility.

• Looted BR Coins and Gold Bars are now sorted after healing and boost items.

• Blue Chip Transmitter and Emergency Cover Flare spawns have decreased.
